How does camera geotagging work

Most social networks and their related services use some form of geo-tagging to track the location of their subscribers.

This allows users to augment their posts and updates with their current location. One of the commonest uses of geo-tagging is to associate a location with the pictures or footage shot by a smartphone camera or digital recording device. Geo-tagging may occur after a photograph or video footage is shot, or once the images are posted online. These controls are available on both the sites themselves, and on their dedicated mobile apps. You can choose a location from the drop-down menu, or specify one yourself.

The one you choose will appear underneath each tweet you subsequently post. The caption tab on Instagram gives you the option to add a location for each video or photo that you post.

On the Home Screen you can check time to be synced with your camera, create new trip, rename trip, change logging interval, start or stop recording and check trip details. The Logging interval option lets you adjust how often the app should record your position, which enables you to balance battery life and logging accuracy.

This is great when you want to override the default logging settings and record a certain location. You can also record your trips manually only by pressing the Log now button while having the Logging interval set to Manual. When you finish your trip, it is automatically synced with all your linked Cloud services GeotagPhotos. In the Trip History section you can review all of your previously recorded trips captured by your device. You can then rename, delete, and export your trips. You can also check details of your trips and their parts, so you have complete overview about it.
